Barbara Hannah is a consultant dietitian, who also works at Blacktown Mt Druitt Hospitals in a senior clinical role. There her role currently encompasses the nutritional management of critically ill patients in an Intensive Care setting. Barbara provides consultations at GastroHealth Australia centres in Baulkham Hills and Rouse Hill.
She graduated from Deakin University in 1983, and then completed a graduate role at Royal Melbourne Hospital. Since coming to NSW, she has worked at Westmead Hospital and Blacktown Mt Druitt Hospitals. There her roles have included gastroenterology, paediatric nutrition, diabetes education, weight reduction and all other areas of nutrition, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition she has provided consultancy to aged care facilities for many years, mentored other dietitians, and continued her own professional development.
Barbara has particular interest in gastroenterology – especially IBS, Coeliac disease and intestinal failure. However her extensive experience as a clinical dietitian means she also brings great depth of knowledge to all areas of gastroenterology, diabetes and cardiology.
